About

Councilwoman Sangeeta Doshi was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, and immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of two. She has lived in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, since 1996 and currently resides there with her husband, their three sons, and their dog.

A telecommunications executive and small business owner, Councilwoman Doshi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Babson College.

Her record of public service includes membership on the Domestic Violence Response Team for over 20 years, the Cherry Hill Planning Board, the Cherry Hill Zoning Board of Adjustment, and the District IV Legal Ethics Committee. She has also volunteered with Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League and Moms Demand Action.

Councilwoman Doshi currently serves as Co-Chair of the Cherry Hill Human Relations Committee and the Cherry Hill Green Team. She has led several landmark initiatives, including the establishment of Cherry Hill’s first dog park, the installation of a solar-powered bus shelter, and the launch of NJ Transit’s first electric bus in Camden.

She is an active member of the Indian Cultural Center and the Indian Temple Association, and serves on the Camden County Air Quality Committee. Additionally, she sits on the advisory boards of Inspiring South Asian American Women, the New Jersey Leadership Program, the Asian American Alliance in South Jersey, and the North South Foundation.

In 2020, Councilwoman Doshi was appointed by Governor Phil Murphy to the NJ Transit Board of Directors, where she served a four-year term. In recognition of her leadership and service, she received the Sustainability Hero Award in 2023, the Rutgers Green Champion Award in 2024, and the Martin Luther King Award for Service from Camden County in 2025.

In 2025, Councilwoman Doshi was honored to be asked by Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill to serve on the Governor’s Transition Team.

Councilwoman Doshi is deeply committed to making Cherry Hill a leader in sustainability—investing in clean energy, protecting the environment, and building parks and infrastructure that enhance the quality of life for all families.
