[ARCHIVED] Emergency Water Main Repair Impacting Traffic Patterns on Springdale Road

Springdale

On or about February 19, 2024 – Emergency Water Main Repair Impacting Traffic Patterns on Springdale Road

Camden County Department of Public Works and New Jersey American Water have advised Cherry Hill Township of a major water line repair required on Springdale Road.  The work activity on Springdale will be located between Springdale Farm Market and Justa Lane.  Springdale Farm Market and other facilities will maintain access to their facilities.

Road Closure Northbound Towards Route 70: This emergency work will require a full lane closures of both lanes going Northbound (towards Route 70), at the site of the work.  No traffic will be able to travel on Springdale road beyond Justa Lane.  There will be local access only between Kresson Road and Justa Lane to provide access to the JCC, Jewish Federation, Saltzman House, St. Thomas More Church and the residential properties in this immediate area. Travel beyond Justa Lane will require use of the signed detour.

Partial Closure Southbound Towards Kresson Road:  Traveling southbound on Springdale Road (heading toward Kresson Road) will maintain one single lane of traffic during this construction work.  This will provide continued access the entire length of Springdale Road in this direction.

Duration of Work: We have been advised that the work will require the closures for approximately 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the overall repairs identified during construction.

Work and lane closures will begin on or about February 19, 2024.

Please see attached for the detour map of the area.   We will also continue to provide updates.

American Water has indicated that there will be no impacts to water service.

Important Tips:

  • Please allow extra time to travel and navigate the detours during these emergency repairs.
  • Emergency services and Cherry Hill Schools transportation office have received notification to ensure proper plans are in place.
