[ARCHIVED] Collection Delays

Cherry Hill Township is well aware of the frustrating and ongoing repeated delays and missed pickups in Republic Services’ trash, recycling, and now partially yard waste collection in the Township.

Mayor Angulo and Township officials have worked closely with Republic Services, its waste removal contractor, to keep residents updated on the situation. Republic has repeatedly represented to the Township that it will be adding trucks and manpower to deal with outstanding collection issues and has assured us that these delays will not continue.

In the meantime, Mayor Angulo has authorized over-time for our Cherry Hill Department of Public Works employees to utilize Township trucks and manpower over the next few days.  This overtime will be paid for by fines to the contractor in the form of liquidated damages, and will not represent an additional cost to taxpayers.

Additionally, beginning tomorrow, Saturday at 7:00 AM Cherry Hill Department of Public Works at 1 Perina Blvd will serve as a collection point for residents who wish to drop off their yard waste.  More locations will be brought online and we will continue to communicate them as they become available.

We apologize for the delays and ask for your patience and understanding as Republic works to get everyone’s trash, recycling and yard waste picked up as soon as possible. Please continue to check the township’s website and Facebook page for updates about pickups and delays.

Please continue to call Public Works at (856) 424-4422 to report any delays in your collection or if you have any questions or concerns.
