FIRE COMMISSIONER CANDIDATE BIOGRAPHIES

MEMBER OF BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS  THREE YEARS – VOTE FOR ONE

DENISE DONAHUE – Received an Associate’s Degree from Camden County College in Business Administration and has Twenty-Five years’ experience in the financial services industry. She is currently employed at Raymond James and holds a Series 7 license as a General Securities Representative and the Series 66 License as an Investment Advisor Representative and is a Public Notary. She is an active member of the Cherry Hill High School East PTA Executive Board and served as President and Secretary for Horace Mann PTA. She served as Treasurer for Cherry Hill East High School PTA, is a member of the Downs Farm Swim Club, and the Crohns & Colitis Foundation. She has been a resident of Cherry Hill for over 20 years with her husband, Sean and children, Grace (21) and Aidan (17), along with their dog Asztrik (10). Her husband, Sean Donahue, created the current brand identity for Cherry Hill Township.

WILLIAM P. KELLY – He and his family have lived in Cherry Hill for 42 years. He worked over 40 years as a Senior Finance Executive with a major global telecommunications systems manufacturing company. During his career, he has successfully managed numerous people and projects in three countries (Canada, Turkey, and the United States) and was an award winning Senior Executive for both Innovation and Teamwork.  Presently, he is retired and the principal of a Business Consulting Company. He has been associated with the Cherry Hill Fire Department for 40 years; serving as a volunteer Firefighter, a Trustee and a Fire Commissioner. His family is a long time member of the Fox Hollow Swim Club. He is a former Youth Ice Hockey coach at Cherry Hill High School East and the Gladiator Hockey Club. Since being elected to the CHFD Board of Fire Commissioners, he has been instrumental in working with the other Board Members and Office of the Fire Chief to implement many positive fiscal responsible programs that have been very beneficial for both the taxpayers and the employees. This has resulted in the Moody’s Investors rating of Aa1; the highest rating for a Fire Department in New Jersey. In conjunction with this fiscal success, related programs have promoted safety and training for our Firefighters, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Volunteers and Administrative personnel. As a result, our 1st Responders are recognized as well trained professionals. In 2016, the CHFD was recognized by the Insurance Service Office (ISO) with a Class 1 PPC designation and by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) benchmark system which measures the quality of fire and emergency services. CHFD is the only department in New Jersey with both designations.

MEMBER OF BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS UNEXPIRED TERM ONE YEAR – VOTE FOR ONE

RYAN DORAN - Graduated from the IBEW Local Union 351 electrical apprenticeship in 2017. Currently, he is employed as an electrical foreman and a union electrician for over ten years. He has been a Board member of the Camden County Planning Board since 2017, a Workforce Development board member since 2018, and a NJYD Labor Caucus Chairman since 2016.   He spends countless hours every year helping labor candidates across the State. 

DANNY ELMORE – Attended Rutgers University from 1973-1975. He graduated in 1978 from Stockton University with a BA Degree and attended Howard University Law School. He was Vice President his Freshman and Senior years. He attained his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1981. His work experience includes: Teacher 1981-82,  Attorney at Jerome Cohen Law Firm, 1983-84,  Paralegal Assigned to United States Department of Justice, 1984-85, United States Department of Justice, Senor Paralegal, 1985-88, Awarded Outstanding Performance Ratings 1985-88,  United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 1988-97, Trial Attorney, Awarded Outstanding Performance Ratings 1989-97, Elmore Law Firm Incorporated 1997, Elmore, Pugh & Warren, P.C. established in 2002, President 2002-Present, General Practice, Admitted to Practice Before Federal Courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Georgia, Virginia and Delaware. Community Service includes the Cherry Hill African American Civic Association, where he served in several positions including President and Vice President 1984-Present, Moderator, The Kings Community Baptist Church 2011 – Present.

DAVID GORENBERG – He and his wife have lived in Cherry Hill for over 30 years and raised three children here, all of whom went to Cherry Hill Public Schools. He received his undergraduate degree from Rider University, and law degree from Widener University School of Law, cum laude. He also earned a Six Sigma Green Belt from Rutgers University, and a Certificate in Leadership and Management from Temple University. While practicing law in South Jersey for nearly a decade, his practice included business and real estate transactional work. He then transitioned to financial and professional services, and over the past twenty-plus years have developed expertise in financial, professional, tax, and advisory services, with specific experience in planning and managing budgets, capital needs, staffing, and forecasting goals. During this time, he led and mentored diverse teams, and developed a talent for collaborating across job functions, as well as vertically within the business hierarchy. His past employment includes Fortune 15 and Fortune 500 companies that recruited him to build new businesses, including the creation of business procedures, legal documentation, and compliance, risk, and audit issues. He has been a volunteer firefighter, with over 16 years of experience. Presently, he is an active member of the Deer Park Fire Company of the CHFD. He also has 18 years of experience as an EMT, including service as a Lieutenant and Driver Training Officer, and spent part of his career with Cherry Hill Emergency Medical Services before it was merged into CHFD. He has served on the Board of Directors of multiple professional associations, including a term as President of a national trade association. His service on these boards has included strategic planning, budgeting, training/education, and compliance matters. He was a volunteer baseball coach at CHYAA for 15 years, and a volunteer basketball coach with the Cherry Hill Department of Recreation for 10 years. He remains an active “Band Parent” with the Cherry Hill High School East Marching Band and Color Guard, where he has volunteered for the past 16 years.
