[ARCHIVED] A Statement from Mayor Angulo and Township Council Regarding the Attack on the U.S. Capitol Building

The following is a statement from Mayor Angulo and Township Council:

"The peaceful transfer of power is a pillar of our democracy. The attack on the U.S. Capitol Building, and the people inside, was shameful and shook us to the very core of what unites us as Americans.  There is no place for violence in our society.  An effective democracy is one where citizens resolve differences in a civil and respectful manner.  Over the past year in Cherry Hill, we walked side by side in solidarity with residents in peaceful protest. Our goals have always been and must remain to build a better world—not tear it down. As your Mayor, I took an oath to uphold the values we share as Americans, and work each and every day toward an even more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Cherry Hill for all members of our community. Today I pledge to continue to work and do my part to uphold the principles of our great nation."
