[ARCHIVED] Cherry Hill Tree Ordinance

Please be advised that the new Tree Ordinance Regulations go into effect on July 14, 2022. As a reminder, the Ordinance requires applicants seeking the removal of any tree equal to or greater than 5 inches DBH (15.7 inch circumference), regardless of whether trees are in healthy, poor, or dead condition, to submit an application (at no cost to residents) to Department of Public Works to ensure compliance with the provisions of the new Tree Ordinance. The only exception to this permit review is for trees that are an “imminent threat,” as specifically defined in the Tree Ordinance, and trees that are an invasive species, as determined by the Director of Public Works or his/her designee. The Tree Ordinance also requires review and approval of any proposed tree plantings in the public right of way to protect the integrity of nearby public utilities and structures.

The new Tree Removal Permit Application, FAQ’s, additional summaries, and materials, will be available on the Cherry Hill Township Website by July 14, 2022.
