The Office of the Fire Marshal is responsible for inspecting all commercial and multifamily occupancies within the Township. Inspectors enforce regulations established by the Uniform Fire Safety Act of New Jersey, the National Fire Protection Association and local ordinance (PDF).
Inspections focus on addressing conditions within and around buildings that could potentially cause a fire, contribute to fire spread, or are likely to endanger building occupants if a fire were to occur. Inspectors will also assure that all built-in features such as suppression systems and detection systems are functioning properly.
