Ticks, Trails and Things
Are you the type of person who just loves to use Cherry Hill's trails? Connecting with nature and sharing the trail experience with plants and animals is a key part of the attraction and the enjoyment of our Open Spaces. There are some things that we should dodge while experiencing nature. Poison ivy and ticks are examples. Prevention is key to sidestepping poison ivy and its effects, and avoiding getting bit by ticks and possibly contracting the diseases ticks carry, like Lyme's Disease.
To eva
de poison ivy, know what it looks like and stay on the trails.
There are a variety of preventative measures that you can take to avoid ticks, including wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants, closed-toe shoes, and using repellent.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has information dedicated to dealing with ticks, including where they live, how to remove them, and symptoms to check if you do get bitten. Check out CDC's tick website to help you have a save and satisfying nature experience.
